Getting Involved!

Habitat for Humanity of Wood County is a volunteer-driven organization.  We welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we build simple, decent affordable houses in partnership with God and families in need.

There are many ways in which you can participate as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Wood County. For instance, you can:

  • build at the construction site.  Construction experience is not necessary, but professionals are always welcome.  You must be at least 16 years of age to work on the site.  While persons between the ages of 16 and 18 may be allowed to participate in construction work, ultra-hazardous activity such as using power tools, excavation, demolition or working on rooftops is not permitted by anyone under the age of 18.
  • provide lunches for the construction crew;
  • volunteer in the main office performing routine office work (filing, answering phones, sending out housing and volunteer applications);
  • join one of the various committees (Family Selection, Family Support, Construction/Site Selection, Fund Raising and Publicity, and ReStore);
  • help with special events throughout the year.
