Our Team

Habitat for Humanity of Wood County is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.

We partner with low-income people to build and renovate decent, affordable housing, sold at cost with no-interest or low-interest, subsidized mortgages.

Volunteers contribute most of the labor while individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. The future homeowners themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor – “sweat equity” – into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments are allocated to a revolving Fund for Humanity used to build more houses in Wood County.

Habitat for Humanity of Wood County is run by local Office Staff overseen by a local Board of Directors.

Non-proselytizing policy

Habitat for Humanity International, its affiliated organizations, entities, and individuals will not proselytize. People receive assistance without expressed or implied conditions requiring them to adhere to or convert to a particular faith or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
